AND EDUCATION TO YOUTH SOCCER PARENTS VIA
MYSOCCERPARENTING.COM

IRMO, SC — January 29, 2018 – The South Carolina Youth Soccer Association (“SCYSA”) and the Soccer Parenting Association today announce a partnership agreement by which all member club affiliated with SCYSA will receive a substantial discount to club partnerships that, in turn, provide free access to the educational content on the MySoccerParenting.com platform. Clubs and their soccer families will also be provided access to “The Sideline Project” – 7 Steps to Get Parents to Stop Talking from the Sidelines, a parent and coach education program for clubs.

MySoccerParenting.com seeks to improve and enhance the experience for youth soccer players by engaging and supporting the players’ parents on topics related to the Body, Mind, Coach, Parent, Next Level and the Game. SCYSA, founded in 1977, currently has nearly 30,000 registered players participating in youth soccer throughout the state at all levels, ages 5 – 19.

According to the National Alliance of Youth Sports and reported in the Aspen Institute “State of Play” report, 70% of youth stop participating in organized sports by the age of 13. While there are many reasons for this unfortunate trend, engaging parents in the game and providing them with education and guidance related to the youth soccer experience of their child is an important step in reversing this trend.

“The investment SCYSA is making in positively affecting the lives of the players and families associated with their association is commendable. We are proud to work with the SCYSA and all its member clubs and are encouraged by their commitment to make a positive impact in their community through sport,” said Skye Eddy Bruce, Founder of the Soccer Parenting Association.

“As a continuation of the conversation that SCYSA began this fall with its Silent September initiative, partnering with the Soccer Parenting Association and using the tools available through its MySoccerParenting.com platform was a natural fit. We look forward to continuing our leadership role in shaping the culture of youth soccer sidelines into the future,” according to a statement from the SCYSA Board of Directors.

The South Carolina Youth Soccer Association (SCYSA) is the National State Association for the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and United States Youth Soccer (USYS). The purpose of SCYSA is to develop, promote, and administer the game of soccer among players under the age of 19 years. SCYSA and our members are dedicated to promoting and improving soccer for everyone in the state of South Carolina. SCYSA created this information tool in order to be able to reach more people all over the state as well as the country. Find us at www.scysa.ors
