Recertification is REQUIRED every year that a referee wishes to officiate. Certifications permit the referee to officiate from January 1 to December 31 of their registration year (the year on the badge).
Grassroots referees wishing to officiate ONLY youth matches can recertify online each year. Information on these recertification opportunities will be distributed to all currently certified officials in July/August of each year.
Grassroots referees wishing to officiate in any sanctioned adult leagues and/or semi-pro/professional leagues MUST attend an in-person advanced clinic. Information on the dates/locations of these advanced clinics will be posted and distributed in July/August of each year.
Regional referees are required to attend an in-person advanced clinic each year, successfully pass a physical fitness test and complete three maintenance assessments each year. The in-person clinic and fitness test must be completed after July 1 for the following registration year. The maintenance assessments must be completed between January 1 and December 31 of year preceding the registration year. (For example…for the 2020 registration year, the clinic and fitness test must be completed after July 1, 2019 and the assessments must be completed between Jan. 1, 2019 and Dec. 31, 2019).
